Ms Shearon
Since 1984, Ms Shearon has taught in parochial, public and international schools with twelve years as a kindergarten teacher. While staying home with her own five children, she worked as substitute teacher and a math instructor to elementary teachers , teaching week-long workshops around the country. She sees parents as primary educators of their children, and seeks a collaborative relationship with parents in educating each child here at Saint John School.
Ms Shearon has travelled and lived in many cultures throughout her teaching career which gives her a more worldly approach to teaching and problem solving a student’s needs. In 33 years, she has been a part of many changes in education and currently is in the STEM certification program at Saint Catherine University. She sees each child with incredible potential, a promise of hope and a gift to our collective future. The investment in loving, forming and teaching beautiful souls is why she gets up in the morning. Teaching is her passion. Teaching at a Catholic school is a luxury she can afford at this stage in life. Being able to talk about God’s love within all of us, daily prayer/ meditation and faith formation keeps her happily here at Saint John School.
In her free time she volunteers for Survivor Resources at the St Paul police department, travels, takes classes for her own learning in and around education and spirituality. She enjoys cooking specialty dishes from India , Thailand, Vietnam and Guatemala, hiking, sailing, swimming and the great outdoors.
